Top 5 DVIR Questions:

1.     What PIN should I use? …Chassis.com recognizes there are multiple driver databases such as IDD, eModal or Sealink. We are moving towards standardizing on the IDD PIN.

2.     What does it mean when the “chassis is not found in the registry”?...The chassis must be registered in chassis.com or GIER so that we can determine the IEP. This means the chassis has not yet been registered in either database. If you receive this message, please ask the equipment provider to register the chassis.

3.     I can’t login or forgot my password?...Click here to reset your login.

4.     Do I need to register my drivers?...If you wish to use the Chassis.com mobile application, you must register your drivers in the system. If not, you may use any valid PIN to submit DVIRs.

5.     Will the Chassis.com, eModal and IANA systems communicate?...Chassis.com has agreements in place with both IANA and eModal to forward DVIRs entered in Chassis.com for IEPs registered in both the eModal and IANA systems.

Equipment Providers

Chassis.com is a complete chassis management system offering the following features:

- DVIR & Roadability process management
- Fleet M&R management with Tariffs, Job Order management, Invoicing and Third Party billing
- Chassis fleet management and tracking
- Utilization tracking and per-diem billing

OCEMA and CCM have contracted Chassis.com to provide the Chassis.com DVIR Submission and Distribution modules to its membership. If you are an IEP it is important that you configure your DVIR distribution settings. EDI distribution can also be established with registered companies. If your company is not a member of OCEMA (who have a master license agreement), please contact Advent for more information regarding DVIR submission and distribution in Chassis.com.

Chassis.com can also help your company manage the entire inspection, hold and repair process for your fleet with its integrated Maintenance & Repair system. This system can send notification to repair vendors, manage inspections and work orders while maintaining records of all repairs and systematic inspections. If your company is interested in any additional Chassis.com modules, please contact Advent Sales at 908.795.3223.

Motor Carriers

Motor Carriers have the option to register in chassis.com or IANA's DVIR system, or both. A Motor Carrier must register in order for any virtually provided DVIRs to be submitted against that company’s SCAC code. Motor carrier registration is now available.

In chassis.com, you are only required to create one company registration regardless of the number of locations for your company. The individual registering your company will be the administrator for your company and will have the ability to create additional users. Only those people entering DVIRs into the system will need to be registered as a user in Chassis.com. Drivers do not need to be registered.

The DVIR entry screen is simple to use and can be found on the DVIR tab on the menu bar under New DVIR. You can also search on all of your company’s DVIRs by clicking on the DVIR search tab.

You are not required to enter your drivers into the system to enter DVIRs. The only exception is with our mobile phone application. To utilize Chassis.com on your mobile phone, your drivers must be registered in Chassis.com.

Web entry of DVIRs is free to motor carriers.

M&R Vendors & Facilities

It is important that all M&R service providers and Facilities register in Chassis.com to receive DVIR hold notifications. You only need one company registration in Chassis.com regardless of the number of facilities your company operates. During the registration process companies operating within multiple facilities will be asked to identify all of these facilities. If you do not find one of your facilities on the list, please email helpdesk@chassis.com

After you have registered, you will have the ability to create additional users within Chassis.com.

To receive DVIR notifications, it is important that you go to the DVIR tab and click on DVIR Subscription. From here you will be able to select your facilities and designate a recipient of the DVIR messages.

To receive DVIR notifications, it is important that you go to the DVIR tab and click on DVIR Subscription. From here you will be able to select your facilities and designate a recipient of the DVIR messages.

As a Vendor you will only be able to receive DVIRs if the IEP has granted you permission to receive DVIRs on their behalf. IEPs have a screen within Chassis.com that will allow them to grant this access to your company. After you have created your subscriptions and you are still not receiving DVIRs, please contact your IEP to make sure they have authorized your company to receive their DVIRs.

EDI recipients will have the option of receiving an EDI x12 322 or x12 315 message for defect DVIR notification. The implementation guides for these messages can be found on the EDI tab. Companies wishing to trade EDI with Chassis.com must use the Chassis.com facility code list found on the EDI tab.
